About the project
Upside is a full-featured hotel and community management platform that reimagines the guest experience from arrival to checkout. Guests can book rooms, check in digitally, unlock their door from their phone, control in-room smart devices, browse community events, and connect with fellow members — all from a single, beautifully designed app. The platform bridges traditional hospitality with the expectations of a modern, mobile-first audience.
The Challenge
Hotels typically rely on fragmented systems — separate processes for booking, check-in, room access, and concierge services. Upside needed to unify these touchpoints into one seamless guest experience while integrating with physical hotel hardware (smart locks, climate controls) and existing property management backends — without adding operational complexity for staff or navigation complexity for guests.
Our Solution
We designed Upside around the natural progression of a guest journey: discover, book, arrive, stay, connect, and depart. BLE integration powers a frictionless digital room key. The community module uses location-aware event discovery so guests can organise their stay around yoga sessions, workshops, and social gatherings. A member directory lets guests opt in to networking with like-minded travellers, turning a stay into a community experience.
